Cowboys in running for three President’s Cup final spots
RUGBY LEAGUE: Warwick Cowboys teams can realistically make all three Toowoomba Rugby League President’s Cup finals after some interesting results in week 10.
Warwick only has to beat Goondiwindi at Goondiwindi on Sunday to be sure of a spot in the reserve-grade President’s Cup final.
In A-grade, Warwick has to beat Goondiwindi and hope the unbeaten Souths beat Pittsworth to secure a spot in the prestigious Madsen Rasmussen Trophy final for the top two teams after the first round (11 weeks).
In the under-18 grade, Valleys, Pittsworth and Warwick and all on 16 points and should all win their games going on form.
If the three clubs win, it will come down to for-and-against with Valleys plus 190, Pittsworth plus 176 and Warwick plus 170 after the weekend games.
In a break of tradition, there will be no special President’s Cup day this year. Each game will be played when the qualifiers meet in the second round of the competition.
