Cowboys make it to TRL season decider in A grade
RUGBY LEAGUE: Warwick has qualified for its first A-grade grand final since 1999 after a 32-20 victory against Highfields in today's TRL preliminary final at Clive Berghofer Stadium.
Captain Dylan Galloway, Joe Fuimaono, Sam Broomhall and Craig Donn scored tries in the first half as Warwick lead 22-10 at the break.
In the second half, Matt Marshall and Paul Cantwell scored tries as the Cowboys led 32-10 before conceding two tries in the final 10 minutes. Dan Watson landed four goals.
President David O'Leary said it was a dream day for the Cowboys with the under-18 and A-grade teams securing grand final spots.
"We couldn't have asked for more,” he said.
Warwick will now play Pittsworth in Sunday's A-grade grand final.
Centres Galloway and Fuimaono were outstanding for Warwick along with props Trent Richardson and Broomhall and experienced back rower Luke Brosnan.
In fact, it was an outstanding team effort by all 17 in A grade.
Warwick will now play Pittsworth in Sunday's grand final in quest of the Cowboys first premiership in A-grade for 28 years.
