RODEO fever has hit the Rose City, with the Warwick Cowboys' Rodeo kicking off a big month of bull-riding action on Friday night.

As many as 1000 people packed Father Ranger Oval to watch some of the country's best bulls and riders in action.

Rodeo organiser Don Browne said it was a very successful event.

"We had about the same number of people as last year," he said.

"The event raised in excess of $14,000 for the Cowboys.

"It's a good lead up for the Warwick Rodeo."

The next stop for rodeo fans is next week's Warwick Rodeo.
