Cowboys ready to battle the mules
Warwick Cowboys players Morgan Taylor, Declan McLoughlin, Tyson Skyring, Jarred Smail, Jaime Abbas, Sam Broomhall and Scott Fisher have all nominated for the Steve Ackland Concreting Celebrity Footballers Mule Ride at the Ray Bunch Machinery Warwick Cowboys Rodeo on Friday night.
They will be up against Warwick Water Rats players Toby Mcdouall, Dickie Turnbull, Wattles representatives Wally Mapes and Killarney Cutters pair Matthew Butler and Ayrton Friedricks.
The event on the Gill Brothers mules will be held in three heats with the top three contesting the final.
Gates open at 5pm with the pee wee mechanical bull ride for 10 years and under children at 6.30pm and main events at 7pm.
Two of the top 25 bull riders contesting the Adam Merrell Memorial Open Bull Ride are Jeff Moretto from Narangba and Kyogle cowboy David Kennedy, a cowboy with three PBR and one APRA bull riding titles to his credit.
