Cowboys in TRL team for Bundy

FOUR Warwick Cowboys players are in the Toowoomba Rugby League heading to Bundaberg for a 47th Battalion Trophy championships in Central division this weekend.

The battalion trophy was previously played for in the former Wide Bay division.

Prop Cameron Mulcahy, centre Scott Kerridge and second rower Luke Brosnan are in the starting side and half-back Trent Achilles is on the bench.

St Mary’s, Warwick, teacher Sam Hannant plays for the Brothers club in Toowoomba and will partner Kerridge in the centres.

This weekend’s carnival is being played under a new format since the change in the divisional structure puts South West (Toowoomba, Border, Roma, western areas) and Wide Bay areas into Central division.

Toowoomba will play Bundaberg in a 12.30pm game on Saturday and then back up with a 3.30pm game against a team to be determined. Russell Bailey is coach.

On Sunday, Toowoomba has another game at 9.30am.The semi finals are at 12.30pm and the grand final at 2.30pm.
