Cowboys under-18 side ready for clash with Burnett Blue

RUGBY LEAGUE: It will be all hands on deck as the Warwick Cowboys under-18 side heads to Toowoomba on Sunday for the TRL qualifying final.

Coach Matt Grew has a squad of 22 which will be reduced to 20 on Sunday.

"Isaac Chaffey and Matt Titcomb have each played two games of A grade and have benefitted from the experience. They will play in the final for us this weekend,” Grew said.

Warwick plays Burnett Blue at 11.30am Sunday at Clive Berghofer Stadiuym.

It is one win each this season.

Grew said defence was the key against a Burnett Blue side that can score tries from anywhere on the field.

"They do the unpredictable in attack,” Grew said.

League commentators often talk about the numbers nine, seven and six and the Cowboys will play Harry Sullivan at hooker, Angus Croft at half-back and Brad Morrish at five-eighth. All are in good form.

Kai Etherington is the team goalkicker and will play on the left wing.

A Warwick win on Sunday will put the Cowboys against Valleys in the major semi final on Sunday week. A loss will put Warwick into the minor semi final againt the winner of Saturday's game between Brothers and Pittsworth.

Grew was impressed with the commitment at training this week.

"We are incorporating a lot of fitness into our skills sessions,” Grew said.

As minor premiers, Warwick has the weekend off in A grade.
