Cowboys win playoff to make top six
RUGBY LEAGUE: The Warwick Cowboys qualified for the TRL reserve grade top-six with a 36-24 win against Souths at Glenholme Park in Wednesday night's playoff.
The Cowboys will now play Valleys in Sunday's knockout finals game at Clive Berghofer Stadium.
Warwick conceded the first try of the game on Wednesday before levelling and then leading 16-4 at halftime.
The Cowboys maintained their lead for the rest of the game.
Brad McIntosh, Brandon Vaughan, Josh McIntosh and Alex Stewart were the best for Warwick.
Cowboys president David O'Leary said it was a good effort to back up after Sunday and win the playoff.
"We had a full squad of 20 players at the game and have no injury concerns,” O'Leary said.
The Cowboys will now play three successive finals game on Sunday from 10am, second division, under 18 and then reserve grades.
In A grade, Souths beat Gatton 42-20 in the playoff for sixth to earn a Sunday knockout finals game against last year's premiers Pittsworth.
