Crash near school leaves 2 injured
SCHOOL pick-up was the scene of a minor two-vehicle accident when two cars collided in front Warwick East School yesterday afternoon.
A Warwick Police spokesman said the two female drivers were taken to Warwick Hospital with minor injuries after their vehicles were involved in an incident on the Fitzroy and Canning streets intersection about 2.30pm yesterday.
“A 30-year-old female driver was issued with a notice to appear for driving without due care and attention,” the spokesman said.
One resident who lives near the intersection said he was shocked, as he had never seen an incident on that stretch of road before.
“I’ve lived here for 16 years, it’s pretty safe because it’s a school zone (40kph speed limit during school hours) and there’s give way signs,” he said.
