ORGANISERS of the Warwick and District Junior Rugby League have made the tough decision to scrap two matches in the grand finals today. 

Members of the Goondiwindi Blues team are believed to have been involved in a crash on the Toowoomba Karara Rd earlier this morning, en route to the grand finals day at Platz Oval in Clifton.  

A man involved in the crash remains in a critical condition but three children who were passengers in the vehicle that struck a tree are reportedly without major injuries.  

A five-year-old by who fractured his left hand and sustained neck injuries, and a 35-year-old woman with hand injuries will be airlifted.

A 13-year-old boy with minor head injuries and 10-year-old boy with ankle injuries are being transported on road. 

Warwick and District Junior Rugby League secretary Glyn Rees said out of respect to those involved the under 14 and under 16 girls league tag games would not be going ahead. 

"There are Goondiwindi players across the program and all on their way to the games today," Mr Rees said. 

"We understand that some other players have passed the accident and have understandably found it quite upsetting." 

The Goondiwindi Blue team had been set to face the Millmerran Inglewood Texas Jets in the U14 game at 10.45 this morning.    

Both teams have been named joint premiers for 2017. 

In the girls tag league, the Tenterfield Tigers were poised to take on Goondiwindi. 

The Under 16s boys grand final between Goondiwindi and Collegians will go ahead as planned at 1.10pm.
