Man injured in crash

EMERGENCY crews had to free a man trapped in his vehicle after his car crashed into a tree on the Mt Lindsay Highway, 20km north of Stanthorpe at 4.10pm today.

The accident happened in the Wylie Creek area, which is just over the border in New South Wales.

The male occupant had a shoulder injury and a head injury and it took firefighters an hour to free him.

A rescue helicopter was called but was later stood down as his injuries were not as serious as originally thought.

The man was treated at Stanthorpe Hospital.
