Crews battle fire into the night

FIRE fighters spent fives hours containing a grass fire  outside Warwick yesterday.

Most of the 13 crews in attendance left Connolly Dam Rd between 6pm and 7pm  last night, with the last senior officers finishing up at about 10.45pm .

The first crews were on the seen just before 12pm  yesterday.

Nearby homeowners were alerted as the wind picked up and the fire spread, but it was contained at around 5pm, with no damage to houses.

The cause of the fire is yet to established.
