Cricket action across the board in Warwick
48 HOURS IN 48 LINES
YOU could write about 48 hours of cricket most weeks of summer.
In the past week, we had players in action in Canberra, Warwick and Lockyer.
There was one-run the difference in the T20 game between Allora and Redbacks on Saturday with Kris McLennan the difference for Allora.
Kris hasn't played a lot in recent times when you were more likely to see him chasing a little white ball around a golf course.
But when he had a game for Allora on Saturday, he performed with bat and ball.
The highlight of the weekend was the Warwick Davis Shield win at Lockyer.
Getting any team from the Lockyer out for 80 odd is almost unheard of, but it happened when Warwick headed to Mulgowie.
Dave Walker led from the front as captain. Good to see a player who would walk into the top team, the Mitchell Shield side, wanting to play Davis Shield and inspire the next generation of cricketers. Now he is one win from a Davis Shield title victory. Warwick will play Toowoomba in the final.
In the big league, it has been wickets to Mark Steketee and runs for Delissa Kimmince for the Heat and both will be in action at the Gabba on Friday. In the meantime, Mark has a date in Melbourne with Kevin Pietersen and the Stars tonight.
