Cricket and drag racing in the news on Southern Downs

Heat Stardom
IT is great to see Freestone/ Swan Creek paceman Mark Steketee equal-second on the wicket takers list in the WBBL.
It is even more interesting to see he is the only one in the six yet to be selected to play international cricket in one form of the game.
Sean Abbott has the most wickets and has played games for Australia in short-form cricket. I have called Mark the paceman from Freestone and Swan Creek which is factual although we tend to just say Warwick.
Same with Australian 2011 World Cup polocrosse captain Cameron Shepherd. He was referred to as a Warwick player but in reality lives at Massie and as a junior at Loch Lomond.
The bottom line is there are plenty of sports stars from our rural districts.
The T20 cricket on Tuesday night made me head to a TV to watch the Heat after doing some cattle work. Couldn't stay on the farm as there is no TV there.
Drags back
HE might be one of our younger drag racers but well done to him for bringing No Prep Kaos to Warwick Dragway on Saturday.
No Prep means what it says, I could start the Holden Rodeo ute or the Valiant Charger without any preparation.
Sounds like a great chance to start a new sport so head out to the drags on Saturday from noon for a bit of fun.
Good to see a young fellow doing the work to bring people to town.
