Elderly man tries to lure child into car in Thulimbah
Police warn of predators
MEMBERS of the community are asked to be vigilant in and around schools after a young boy was allegedly approached by an elderly male on Thursday morning on Granite Belt Dr, Thulimbah.
The male asked the child a number of times to get into his vehicle for a lift but left the scene when the child refused.
The man is described as 60 - 70 yrs, short grey hair, balding on top, unshaven appearance and driving a faded grey four door sedan.
Anybody sighting a similar vehicle or person are asked to immediately contact Stanthorpe Police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Unregistered vehicles caught out
A SPRINGSURE man was caught driving an unregistered vehicle in Warwick.
Police intercepted the vehicle on Fitzroy St at 8.30am on April 28.
The 43-year-old driver was issued with two traffic infringement notices for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle.
The following day, police intercepted a motorcycle on George St at 3pm.
The 17-year-old male rider was issued with a notice to appear for driving an unregistered and uninsured vehicle, for driving while disqualified and failing to wear a helmet.
His motorcycle was impounded for 90 days.
Drug bust operation goes to plan
Police conducted Operation North Crème last Wednesday and Thursday, targeting drug offences in the Stanthorpe and Wallangarra areas.
Search warrants at Border Street, Happy Valley Road, Rockwell Street and Raleigh Streets, Wallangarra resulted in the location of marijuana, amphetamines, smoking utensils and drug paraphernalia.
Inquiries are being conducted by Wallangarra Police and it is expected a number of people will be charged in coming days with various drug related offences.
Pay attention on the road
A 17-YEAR-OLD Warwick female was issued with a notice to appear for driving without due care and attention, after her vehicle collided with a parked car at the Palmerin St and Wood St junction.
The accident occurred at 8.30pm on Thursday April 30 when the driver was travelling east on Wood St and collided with the car, pushing it into a street sign and power pole.
