Criterion receives a special facelift

THE Criterion has been a mainstay in Warwick for 100 years, and now the grand old lady is set for a spruce up.

The works will see roofing painted in the traditional heritage red colour, along with the word 'Hotel' emblazoned on the east-wing side of the roof.

Manager Kylie Jenner said the touch-ups were about keeping the lustre of the building.

"The aim is to have it finished before Christmas,” Mrs Jenner said.

"The building is a central icon in the centre of the town.

"She has her own personality and we want her to retain her grandure.”

Mrs Jenner said it was anticipated the work would have positives for both the community and patrons.

"Investing money in upkeep is a sign of the Criterion's commitment to Warwick's future,” she said.

"It's good for passers by, tourists and people who love to come to Warwick.”
