Croquet club's end of year knock

OVERCAST conditions didn't deter members of Warwick Croquet club from having one final hit for the year around the green yesterday.

A large group of members turned out for the Christmas get-together, enjoying the game before firing up the barbecue.

Vice president Dorothy Gartery said it had been a successful year.

"Our membership has increased this year and we haven't had to stop for bad weather - except one Saturday afternoon," she said.

"Hopefully numbers will continue to grow in the New Year."
