SERVING UP: Fun Filipino festivities take off in Warwick

IF YOU caught a whiff of something delicious emerging from WIRAC this morning, there's a good chance it was a Filipino feast.

An exotic mix of smells and sounds have transformed Warwick's recreation venue into a cultural hub as hundreds of Filipinos from around south east Queensland gather to celebrate the Sayaw Festival.

Organised by the recently-formed Filipino Community of Warwick and Surrounds, the festival is making its debut this weekend.

Families are boasting the bright colours of their volleyball teams while others serve up amazing food to keep the athletes going.

Surrounded by friendly faces, it's impossible not to feel like you're "part of the family".

President Leleth Sorono said everyone was welcome to join in the celebrations, which continue until 8.30pm tonight and start back up at 8.30am tomorrow.

If you need some more convincing, here are some of the happy snaps from this morning's festivities.
