Cunningham and Warwick win at state polocrosse
POLOCROSSE: Cunningham and Warwick clubs enjoyed success at the Queensland Polocrosse Association State Championships at Wandoan at the weekend.
The three-day carnival was finished despite 25mm rain overnight Friday. Seventy seven teams nominated.
Cunningham won the B-grade open competition from Wandoan 2 with Jess Ellison from Cunningham the best horse and rider winner.
Warwick won the junior A final from Wandoan and Cunningham 1 was victorious in the beaten teams competition. Warwick pair Callum Brook and Bridget Shepherd won best player awards.
In A grade mixed, Warwick won the beaten teams while a Cunningham pool team was runners up in B grade juniors.
The award for best female player in the open competition went to Cunningham player Carly Cooper.
In open men's, Tansey beat Wandoan in the final with Tom O'Neill from the winning team receiving the Fraser Family Trophy for best horse and rider.
Trent Collins from Tansey was judged champion player of the carnival.
Tansey won A grade mixed from Tara with Matt McAlister and Lauren Sillitoe best horse and rider winners.
