CUPDATE: Don't let the rain get you down, races are still on

DESPITE the rain the Warwick Turf Club is quietly confident tomorrow's race meeting will go ahead.

Turf Club president Phil Grant said the track would host an event, even if horses didn't run.

"At this stage we're right but if we get another 10mm we're in serious doubt,” he said.

"In saying that, no matter what happens we will still have a phantom race day.”

The bar and Fashions on the Field events will run regardless and punters will have access to a full catalogue of southern races along with a TAB.

The club steward will assess the track on Saturday morning at 6am to make a final call.

In the meantime the club will hold the Warwick Cup calcutta tonight at 6.30pm in the Allman Park members bar.

"It's basically in the hands of the rain Gods,” Mr Grant said.

"It looks like it's breaking around us but you just don't know.”
