Cutters eye the finals
THE Killarney Cutters are now fourth on the ladder and their coach is confident the team will be able to secure a home semi-final.
With only three rounds left in the Border Rugby League competition, Cutters Coach Neil Parfitt said the boys would have to dig deep.
"The aim is to win all three, which will move us up to third and give us a home semi-final," he said.
"The boys love a home game and the crowd makes a big difference."
If the boys are unable to make the jump up the ladder they will have to travel to Texas for the semi-final.
This is Parfitt's first season with the Cutters and his first time coaching a country football team.
"It's the most frustrating coaching job I've ever had," he said.
"But I'm enjoying it.
"We have a really good team on paper, with about 30 players, but half of the boys won't travel, which means we struggle to get a team together for an away game.
"We have only won one away game all season.
"But I guess this is just how country football works these days."
Parfitt said he had got his head around country football and was keen to coach the team next season.
Wallangarra will host the Cutters this weekend.
