Cutters take out A-grade premiership against Inglewood

IT took to year 17 for the Killarney Cutters to win the A-grade premiership in the Border Rugby League competition.

The Cutters won reserve-grade in 2009.

Kent Wallace is the only player from the 2009 reserve-grade side to play in the team which beat Inglewood 40-16 at the Macintyre Sports Complex on Saturday.

Killarney led 28-0 at halftime and despite Inglewood scoring more points in the second half, the team from the foothills of the Great Dividing Range rarely looked in danger.

Cutters halfback Coedie Tandy was player of the match.

For the home side, captain-coach Matt Gainey, forwards Jason Edmondstone and Brent Bennett and fullback Matt West were four of the best.
