Dad's big day a family first
THIS Sunday will be a special day in the Farrell household, with the family set to celebrate their first Father's Day as a family after the birth of newest member Phoenyx last week.
Rob and Nikki married in March and the couple each have one child from a previous relationship – four-year-olds Kierstan Farrell and Jack Scarlett.
On Sunday the family plans to picnic by the water at Leslie Dam, with Kierstan set to enjoy an afternoon of fishing alone with dad.
Kierstan yesterday declared her love for her daddy, asying her favourite things to do with him were fishing and pigging.
Since the birth of Phoenyx last week, Mr Farrell has embraced his role as a hands-on dad, changing nappies and even getting up in the night to tend to his son.
“I do it because I miss him when he is asleep and I have even brought him back to bed with me a few times,” he said.
Mrs Farrell said her husband is “fantastic” in his father role and said their son is already becoming a “daddy's boy”.
