Dairy farmers fight back

FRUSTRATED dairy farmers have taken their message direct to the people at this year's Brisbane Ekka.

Eighteen months after supermarkets dropped store-brand milk to $1 per litre, farmers have rallied to bring their plight to the public.

Queensland Dairy Organisation president Brian Tessmann said farmers were struggling to survive and the future of the industry was under threat.

He said the Ekka rally was about people power.
