Prize-winning heifer wins top spot in Clifton stud cattle
WARWICK may have had a large contingent in the Clifton stud cattle competition but it was Dalby that stole the show with the champion heifer.
The Red Angus heifer and her calf were exhibited on Saturday morning by Kirrily Iseppi and Isabel Glasser.
"We've been showing red Angus for about 20 years," Mrs Iseppi said.
"This is a preview show for her before Sydney, we're taking a big Angus team down."
Young competitor Isabel is a close friend of the Iseppi family.
"Kirrily's like a show mum to me," she said.
"I've been involved in showing cattle since I was five and showed horses even younger.
"I'm mostly just doing showing at the moment but also got first in paraders recently."
Isabel said travelling to country shows was a fun and social experience for her.
"I like working with the cattle, leading and showing them," she said.
"I love working with animals and would love to be a cattle vet when I'm older.
"I'd like to try for showgirl some day.
"But at the moment I just like getting to go to all the different shows and catching up with my friends.
"We all go to different schools or live in different towns so it's nice to see each other at the show.
"I've been pretty successful with parading recently too.
"I've won nearly every one I've been in the past year."
