Dalby win two of the premierships in the TRL competition

RUGBY LEAGUE: Dalby claimed their first TRL A-grade premiership with a 48-4 victory against Pittsworth.

Former Wattles and now Dalby fullback Corey Blades scored four tries and was named John McDonald Medal winner for man of the match.

The win capped an outstanding weekend for Dalby footy with the town also winning a rugby union premiership in A grade on Saturday when the Wheatmen beat the Goondiwindi Emus.

In reserve grade, Gatton won the TRL minor premiership-premiership double after holding on for an 18-16 win over Valleys in the grand final.

The win sees the Hawks make it back-to-back reserve grade premierships in what was the fourth meeting between the two clubs in the reserve grade decider.

Scores were locked at 16-16 before Gatton's Cory Schmidt kicked a penalty goal to edge ahead.

Gatton lock Schmidt was named man of the match.
