Dance the night away

GET on your dancing shoes and head to the Salvation Army Hall this Saturday for a night of swing.

Warwick Salvation Lieutenant Steve Spencer said, in the dance's third year, they were expecting a larger crowd than ever.

"The first year we had 162, the next we had almost 200, and this year we're expecting more."

The evening will feature music from the Revelation Big Band, the award- winning Blindside Quartet, Commissioners James and Jan Condon and the Agents of Truth.

Mrs Spencer said the night would feature entertainment for the whole family.

"The Agents of Truth will be there for the kids," she said. Commissioners James and Jan Condon are coming out of retirement to perform for the evening.

"They've retired to Queensland, so we asked them to come along," Mrs Spencer.

The evening will cost only a gold coin donation, and freshly cooked doughnuts will be for sale in the Salvation Army Hall car park.

Mr Spencer said dancers could expect some 30s classics on the night.

"We'll have a stage full of musicians playing favourites from the 30s," he said.
