Dancing to raise funds for cancer
GRANITE Belt residents are being invited to put on their dancing shoes on Saturday evening as they help raise money for cancer.
Dance for Cancer will be held at the Stanthorpe RSL, doors will open from 7.30pm, with a number of great local acts taking to the stage to provide entertainment for the night.
The dance is being held as a fundraiser by the Stanthorpe Cancer Support Group, to raise money for those in Stanthorpe suffering from cancer.
Mario Costanzo and Peter and Linda will take to the stage to perform, with the much loved Stanthorpe band Reloaded making a once off return to the stage after their retirement earlier this year.
Not only will they be returning to the stage, but Reloaded will also release its new album, Final Round.
The band wishes to dedicate the album to their families and loyal fans who have followed and supported them throughout their musical careers.
The album is a collection of the band's favourite and most popular songs, as well as three original songs.
The band hopes everyone enjoys their final moment and vocalist and keys player Lennie Girgenti wrote, "Lennie, Frank and Brent would sincerely like to thank lead singer Mario Torrisi who spent countless hours in his studio, Gazebo Recording Stanthorpe, recording, editing and producing this CD.”
The album will be on sale on the night for $15 each.
Event coordinator Debbie Wilmot encourages everyone to head out and support the great cause.
"Come along for a great nights entertainment and support your local cancer support group,” she said.
Dance for Cancer tickets are $20 per person and bookings can be made at Gracious Giving.
A multi-draw raffle and lucky door prizes will also be run on the night, with a number of great pries up for grabs, including bottles of wine, a pamper box and much more.
Raffle tickets are $1 each and can also be purchased from Gracious Giving.
All proceeds raised on the evening will be going towards the Stanthorpe Cancer Support Group.
"All money raised will be staying in town and going to support the locals who need help from the cancer support group,” Mrs Wilmot said.
