Darling Downs inter-district netball competition cancelled

RAIN which started in Warwick at 7am today has led to the cancellation of the Darling Downs Inter-district competition round at Barnes Park today.

More than three hours later, the rain was still falling.

The carnival attracted teams from as far as Miles and all were on the road for an 8am start when the rain started.

Miles players had some social games on the indoor courts at WIRAC so the trip was a little more worthwhile.

All Warwick senior fixtures are played on the two indoor courts at WIRAC but eight courts are needed for the inter-district competition.

The Warwick round will now be played on August 10, a week before the finals in Toowoomba.

In club netball, A/B grade games will be played at WIRAC on Monday night as teams vie for spots in A and B grades which will be determined at the end of the first round.

C grade games are each Tuesday night.
