Dawson saves shots galore in debut as a goalie

HOCKEY: Kyle Dawson was outstanding in his first game as goalie for Corinthians in a 1-0 loss to Wyverns in men's hockey.

He stopped many shots at goal with state player Dion Phillips the only scorer for Wyverns.

Ladies: Saints 4 (Sharon Williams 3, Shanae King 1) def Harlequins 1 (Penny Lee 1) Toni Cox (Saints) and Deb Rhodes (Harlequins) controlled the game in attack and defence. Corinthians/Wyverns 4 (Caitlyn Dyson 2, Danica Schnitzerling 1, Lisa Nowlan 1) def Harlequins 0 Izabella Behr (Corinthians/Wyverns) and Jody Jarrett (Harlequins) both improving each week with skills.

Men: Harlequins 8 (Peter Wallace 2, Declan Coy 2, Deb Rhodes 2, Ange Groves 1, Mackenzie Davis 1) def Saints 1 (Kerri Fitch 1) Jack Coy (Harlequins) and Jacob Fitch (Saints) both played well in defence. Wyverns 1 (Dion Phillips) def Corinthians 0. Gary Millard (Wyverns) had a great game in the centre.
