EFFORTS to save the Mount Kosciuszko brumbies will continue this weekend, with the Bringin' the Brumbies Music Muster.

Held at the Stanthorpe Showground this Sunday from 9am, the Muster is being held as a fundraiser for the South East Queensland Brumby Association.

President Leisa Gillham said it will allow them to continue their efforts to save the brumbies on Mount Kosciuszko, where it's planned to eradicate 90% of them.

"Bringin' the Brumbies Music Muster is the major fundraiser for SEQ Brumbies high country rescue,” she said.

The day will be filled with great entertainment, led by Stanthorpe's own James Blundell who has just signed on as patron.

Noel Gardner with Alex Bridge and The DogWood Three will take to the stage, along with Bridget O'Shannessy, who a surprise has been organised for.

"She (Bridget O'Shannessy) actually turns 17 on the day, so she'll be celebrating her birthday on stage and we've got a surprise or two for her,” Ms Gillham said.

Noel Gardener will also be performing a new song for the first time during his performance, written about the brumbies.

"I believe he is writing a special song about brumbies for the day, so it will be his debut performance for the new brumby song,” Ms Gillham said,

The day will run from 9am-4pm, with entertainment planned throughout the day.

A bush poets' breakfast will kick off from 9.30am with Peter Blundell Snr and guests are invited to sign up to perform their own poetry.

"If people want to do the bush poetry in the morning, they can put their name down on the blackboard,” Ms Gillham said.

Other activities include pin the tail on the brumbies, an apple bob, face painting, brumby cookie decorating, a gumboot toss, a Tenterfield Light Horse tent pegging demonstration and more.

Two of the Stanthorpe Showgirls will also be there selling drinks and hot chips as they continue their fundraising efforts.

Tickets are $25 per person and can be purchased from Stanthorpe Print N Copy or at the gate. The Music Muster will continue in rain or shine, with the event able to be moved undercover.
