COMMENT: Day in the life of a viral videographer

VIRAL videos. We have all seen some great ones. Cute kids and animals, funny pranks and celebrity faux pas.

Some make you amazed and grateful that instant was captured on film and other times you see things you know - regretfully - you can never un-see.

While most viral videos are a source of light-hearted and short-lived entertainment, sometimes they can make a real impact.

One such video is that of Kieran Bourke, the 19-year-old making farming relevant to all internet users.

The social media-savvy farmer is using the world wide web to deliver his message about farming.

Kieran's day in the life of a farmer video has had tens of thousands of hits over the past five months.

He has been able to reach about 70,000 with his message of how important the dairy industry is and how close we are to losing it

The Australian dairy farming industry is one that, although an invaluable part of Australia's economy, we are allowing to slip closer to on the brink of demise.

It is great to see a young person who has proudly dedicated his life to agriculture and is also working to encourage others to see its importance.

Kieran is striving to help make not only his farm a success but also those of other farmers across the country.
