Deadwood makes it to another volleyball final

AFTER a titanic five-set struggle against Hopeless in the semi-final, Deadwood has qualified for another grand final in Warwick men's volleyball.

They will play NADS in the season decider on Monday night at the Warwick State High School Great Hall.

Hopeless won the first set 21-16 which set the scene for a close match against the defending premiers. Deadwood won the second and third sets before Hopeless levelled with a win in the fourth set. The final set was 21-14 to Deadwood.

"It should be a pretty good battle against NADS," Deadwood team member Brett Singh said.

Singh said he really enjoyed the extra sets in the finals series.

Fixtures are the best of three sets with finals played over five sets.

"It takes me three sets to warm up," he said.

The second five-set match in the semi-finals was the game between Saints and No Pressure in the mixed competition.

No Pressure won to set up a grand-final showdown with Reloaded at the Warwick State High School Great School.
