Invitation to debut in 2016 at St Mark’s Anglican Chruch

WITH the debutante ball just a few months away, St Mark's Anglican Church is inviting young Warwick women to make their debut.

Church parishioner Elaine Stewart said six girls had so far signed up and she welcomed more to join so debutantes could kickstart preparations.

"We'll be starting practice on February 22 so we would like to hear from others thinking of making their debut with us this year," Mrs Stewart said.

"The ball is being held at St Mary's Hall on Friday, April 22 and we're looking forward to a few more girls joining us this year."

Mrs Stewart said girls worked hard over six weeks to prepare to make their debut.

"They learn to dance so they can join in all the dances on the night - not just the waltz - and learn how to be presented," she said.

"Lance and Desleigh Clarson are the dance instructors and they put in a lot to help the debs.

"WOW Factor has also come on board this year to help decorate and the band that will be playing is Triple Beat.

"The girls really do have a wonderful time and anyone is welcome to come along to the ball."

Girls 16 and 17 years old are welcome to make their debut in 2016. To sign up or for more information, phone St Mark's Anglican Church on 4661 7223.
