Dedicated historian recognised

JOHN Telfer is well known around Warwick for his involvement in a range of voluntary community services, but now he will also be known as the winner of Warwick's 2013 Cultural Award.

Mr Telfer was presented with the award at Warwick's Australia Day celebrations held at the Warwick Town Hall on Saturday.

He is an active member of the Warwick Catholic Church.

Mr Telfer has dedicated many hours to researching, writing and publishing three historical books for The Scots PGC College, a history of the Killarney Co-operative Society and many short stories for the Warwick Daily News.

He also played a key role in identifying some lost Anzacs within the Scots PGC College past students, which in some cases resulted in families being reunited.
