Delays for bridge work

MAJOR rehabilitation works on the timber bridge at Heifer Creek Crossing No. 5 on the Gatton-Clifton Road is currently under way.

The Department of Transport and Main Roads advises the work on the bridge, 20km south of Ma Ma Creek, include the removal and replacement of the timber deck.

The following traffic arrangement are in place:

From 6am to 9am and 2.30pm to 4pm, the road will generally remain open, however, road users should expect delays of up to 15 minutes, and;

From 9am to 2.30pm and 4pm to 6pm, the road may be closed for periods up to a maximum of two hours.

During the road closure, the department advises motorists to consider using the Warrego, New England, Gore or Cunningham highways as alternate routes.

The works are expected to be completed by June 18, weather permitting.

The department has also reminded motorists that safety around roadworks is a two-way street, so slow down and drive carefully.
