Destination success for award-winning musician

STANTHORPE musician Peter Salata has added another award to his collection, taking home a prize from the Australian songwriters Association.

Destination Unknown was awarded third place in the instrumental category of the Australian Songwriting Contest 2016 and Mr Salata said he was overjoyed by the win.

"I was over the moon when I found out,” he said.

Mr Salata said he was now entering every competition he could, in the hopes of adding more to his collection.

Mr Salata was also presented with an award by his recording company Kross Kut Records, for winning two awards for his last record.

Mr Salata is now recording another album, featuring special guest Lawrie Minson.

The album will be vastly different to his previous work, Mr Salata says.

"The new CD will feature rockabilly, bush balads, spiritual and the contemporary country,” he said.
