Devito in grand final
RENOWNED opera singer and crowd pleaser David Devito delighted his Warwick fans on Tuesday night when he successfully progressed to the grand final on Australia's Got Talent.
Mr Devito – who has performed in Warwick at events such as Carols in the Park – said he wasn't certain he would make it through to the final, saying you can “never expect anything” on the show.
“It's fantastic and it's just sensational to know out of all the thousands of people that auditioned for the show that I have made it through,” he said.
He said he was blown away to be able to perform and has been on the receiving end of several standing ovations during the show, including two in one night.
Mr Devito attributes his success to both the adulation from the judges of his powerful voice and the support of fans.
“It's really the ultimate to know I have been validated by the Australian people,” he said.
The talented performer had aspirations of being a singer for almost all of his life and said being able to perform in front of so many people has always been a dream.
Once the show is over and done with Mr Devito hopes to record another album and head off on a tour.
