Dial triple zero for an ambulance
CALL Triple Zero when in need of an ambulance was one of the messages from Queensland Ambulance Service officer-in-charge Greg Hardy at the Greymare Hall on Friday night.
Mr Hardy said a surprising number of people rang the local station.
"We are often out on jobs, the number is an administration line," he said.
"Now we talk about triple zero and not triple O, as O is a letter and a number and can be mixed up now many are texting."
Mr Hardy explained some first-aid basics like in the event of snake bites and fractures.
"Queensland residents are covered Australia-wide for the ambulance," he said.
Mr Hardy said anyone interested in a one day first-aid course was welcome to call the Warwick station.
"We can organise first-aid courses in Warwick if there is enough interest or arrange for them to go to Toowoomba," he said.
