Disability service expands into city

FAMILIES seeking care for a family member with a disability now have another option to choose from with a disability care service expanding into Warwick.

Platinum Care Services, a family run business by Kev and Tracy Philippa from Toowoomba, are now offering visits to Warwick for people and families with a disability.

Platinum Care offers personal care, in-home accommodation support, community access, own-home respite and more, and are available on demand immediately.

"We believe there is a lot of need for our services in Warwick," Mr Philippa said.

"We want to let people know we can provide those services.

"We have spoken to a lot of families and organisations in Warwick and they have told us there is quite a need."

Mrs Philippa said the organisation was flexible in its approach and could shape services to fit the needs of individuals and their families.

"We can branch out and provide our services on a more personal level," Mrs Philippa said.

"We can design our service to fit people.

"We predominantly go to people's houses but one of the big services we offer is we take people to places and do things in the community with them."

Mrs Philippa said one of the issues they had noticed in Warwick was a lack of funding for families.

"It appears from our early experiences, quite a few people and families don't have funding," she said.

"We urge people to seek funding because it is not a scary journey and people can help step you through it.

"Life will change if you get funding and get assessed.

"Funding just really frees you up."

Mr and Mrs Philippa urged people to contact them if they had any questions.

"We want people to know we're available to talk to at any time," Mr Philippa said.

"We will help them out in any way we can," Mrs Philippa said.
