Dive in and embrace the new trend in car pooling

A CAR went through a house fence and landed in a swimming pool at West Ipswich last night, with the male driver escaping with chest pain and a dose of shock.

The man lost control of his Ford Falcon XR6 at 6.45pm on the corner of Tiger St and Tudor St before ploughing through the fence.

The householder was out but received a call telling him of the bizarre incident. "I wasn't home. My son just rang to tell me what had happened," the man said.

The man was more interested in finding out if the driver was OK than worrying about his fence and pool.

Neighbours were out in force to look at the strange sight.

The Queensland Ambulance Service attended the scene while a tow truck was preparing to extricate the car from the pool.

Police were continuing their inquiries last night.
