DIY Christmas project is cute as a button
HAVE you ever wanted to try your hand at a DIY Christmas project?
Stay-at-home mum Jo Cuskelly has started making her own Christmas cards after deciding to be a stay-at-home mum.
With a bit of thought and some collecting, Mrs Cuskelly began making her own cards, each featuring a button she has carefully handpicked.
She sells her cards through Facebook for only $2.
"I had a lot of support from other stay-at-home mums, particularly a friend of mine Katharine Jones who runs her own business named Live and Let Live," Mrs Cuskelly said.
"They showed me how to start up a Facebook page and helped me with some of the other aspects as well."
She makes the cards in her spare time, whether it is throughout the day or at night as a bit of downtime.
Mrs Cuskelly not only makes Christmas cards, but a range of others from engagement cards to baby shower and congratulations cards. I wanted something that was affordable not only for me to make, but for people to buy," she said.
Mrs Cuskelly encourages anyone considering trying to make their own presents this Christmas to give it a go.
"Start with something cheap to make sure you like it, and just give it a try," she said.
Each Christmas card features an individual design and is handmade by Mrs Cuskelly.
The cards can be purchased online.
