VIDEO: Dolphin struggles in shallow water on the beach

UPDATE 1.30 pm:

THE DOLPHIN has been rescued and was helped back to deeper water.

Barrie Cattermole, who first spotted the dolphin along with a ranger spent almost an hour trying to get the dolphin back to deeper waters.

Barrie's son, Louis, tried to steer the dolphin in the right direction.

The ranger said he had seen the same dolphin struggling in shallow waters earlier this morning, and had to help it back out to deeper water.

EARLIER:

A DOLPHIN has been spotted struggling to swim off the shoreline at Lilies Beach around 12 pm today.

Barrie Cattermole was driving along the beach and spotted the dolphin struggling in the wave flipping on it's back.

Mr Cattermole got out of his car dragged the dolphin back into deeper water.

Around 20 minutes later upon returning to the spot, Mr Cattermole spotted the same dolphin stuck in the shallow water again.

He is currently trying to get the dolphin back to deeper water while waiting for the ranger (12:40 pm).
