Donn brothers help lead Cowboys to win
IT WAS one win from three games for the Warwick Cowboys as the Donn brothers were judged the best players in reserve grade against Dalby at Dalby.
Chris Donn was best forward and his brother Craig best back for a Warwick team which won 36-32.
Craig played an under-18 game before starting in the reserve-grade game.
"He has often played in both grades on the one day, Craig's game in reserve-grade was his best of the season," club president Peter Locke said.
The win keeps Warwick in the running for a top-five spot in reserve grade.
Warwick went down 34-26 to Dalby in A-grade. Pat Cameron was the best forward and winger Declan McLauchlin the best back for the third week running.
McLauchlin scored the best try for Warwick late in the game.
Garry Ellery was again strong in the front row and regular five-eighth Jordan Henry had one of his best games of the season in an unfamiliar position at lock.
Josh McIntosh came off the bench in A-grade at hooker after spending recent weeks in reserve grade.
If prizes were given out for consistency, Paul Cantwell, Garth Miller and Ryan
McIvor would have been in the running after strong performances.
Warwick needed a win at Dalby to move up to second but went down 24-12 in the U18 game.
The Cowboys finish the TRL fixture season with a round of games against Souths at Father Ranger Oval on Saturday. A signed Broncos jersey will be raffled on the day.
