Down to the wire at Warwick junior cricket

CRICKET: It was a close match between Warwick Cricket Association under 11 teams the Smiths and the Handscombs this morning.

The teams beat the rain to play out their match at Glennie Heights State School this morning.

The Smiths came out on top with 115 runs, but only just as the Handscombs finished with 111.

Handscombs player Harry Hume was awarded player of the day, while his team mate Damien Boal took home a joint-encouragement award with Smiths player James Bourke.

The Warners also overcame the Lynns this morning, with a final margin of 228 runs to 157.

Warners player Max Lomas was awarded the player of the day while Kobee Lee, also of the Warners, took home the encouragement award.
