Mike gets teeth into photography

WHEN local dentist Mike Geisel is not peering into his patients’ mouths, he is peering into the viewfinder of his camera.

Dr Geisel is mesmerised by the world of photography.

“I purchased my first proper camera to take photos of the night sky,” he said.

His current works more commonly feature human subjects.

The photography enthusiast said his favourite picture was one close to home.

“It’s a family photo I took while we were overseas,” Dr Geisel said.

“I love how photos capture a moment in time. The happiness of the place was captured in that moment forever.

“That’s the difference between a good photo and a great one.

“When you look at it the feeling comes rushing back or gives insight into what others were thinking at that moment.”

These photos were taken by Dr Geisel during a recent trip to Cambodia.

If you share a passion for photography, Dr Geisel suggests joining the Allora Photography Group.
