Dragfest 2013 set to be an action-packed event
DRAGFEST 2013 will be held at the Warwick Dragway this weekend.
There are already 150 nominations and more are expected to nominate before the start of qualifying.
Some drivers/riders will travel from as far as Victoria and Townsville.
Late nominations will be accepted for an additional fee.
Qualifying starts at 10am Saturday and will go to dark.
There is a free sausage sizzle, band and drinks on Saturday night at the grounds for racers and crews.
Racing will be from 10am Sunday.
There will be racing in 11 classes, supercharged outlaws, extreme sedan, radial, modified, super sedan, super street, nostalgia street, street, modified bike, street bike and junior dragster.
Some of the fastest vehicles will be in the radial, modified, extreme sedans and super charged outlaws with 1/8 mile (200m) expected under five seconds.
It is expected more than 30 members of the host club will compete. Four members of the Mundey family from the Gold Coast will compete at the weekend.
Warwick band Five Years Out of Fashion will also entertain the crowds form 7.30pm Saturday, with a great selection of rock tunes.
