Drags will pit mates against each other

HORSEPOWER with Gerard Walsh

TODAY'S event will be the second for drag racing in Warwick this year, an earlier season start than usual.

A test and tune/ elimination meeting will be held, with gates open from noon and action from 3pm.

As is nearly always the case, racing will go into the night.

Good to see the club pushing the mates versus mates battles on the drag strip. I remember when a drag racing club was formed that part of the push was to get all mate versus mate racing to the drag strip.

Harness success

RACING Queensland has been successful in securing grand circuit status for the state's feature event, Blacks A Fake.

Queensland's pinnacle event is the feature race on the 10-race Blacks A Fake night as part of the Albion Park Winter Carnival.

There is $200,000 on offer in the Group 1 Blacks A Fake race.

Wouldn't it be great to have a Warwick starter and with all the trainers around here it is possibility?

It is only a year ago that Warwick driver/trainer Dayl March had horses in the first three placings in a race.

Rodeo trip to Hay
