Drink driver charged after mini bus crash west of Warwick

THREE elderly people were taken to hospital after the mini bus they were travelling in was allegedly hit by a car driven by a drink driver at Goondiwindi.

The woman driving the car was allegedly almost three times the legal limit, recording a blood alcohol reading of 0.144.

Goondiwindi Constable Shane Harris said the woman failed to give way, which caused the crash on the corner of Brisbane and Herbert Sts at 6.11pm yesterday.

The woman was charged with drink driving and received a penalty for failing to give way.

She was not a Goondiwindi local.

Eight people were assessed by paramedics on scene but only three were taken to Goondiwindi Hospital with minor injuries.
