Drink driver in hospital after reportedly drinking perfume

A MAN has been charged with drink driving after allegedly recording a blood alcohol reading of more than five times the legal limit at Eight Mile Plains this morning.

It will be alleged around 6am police intercepted a speeding vehicle on the Pacific Motorway and was speaking with the driver when they detected a strong smell of liquor and perfume.

The driver returned a BAC of .293 per cent.  He was later transported to the QEII Hospital after reportedly ingesting perfume.

The 30-year-old Woodridge man was charged with disobeying the speed limit and Type 2c drink driving.
He is due to appear at Holland Park Magistrates Courts on the September 29.
