Drinking driving, drugs in police sights

Vandal warning

POLICE are warning against leaving your vehicle overnight in the Stanthorpe Hospital car park. The warning comes after a Queensland Health Dental Facility vehicle was vandalised, receiving damage to the rear tail lights and left-side panel. Anyone with information should contact Stanthorpe Police or Crime Stoppers.

Noise complaints

A 35-YEAR-OLD man will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in March for contravening an official direction. Police said they were called to a Recreation Cres home on Sunday due to noise complaints. The occupant received a notice to appear on the third occasion.

Public nuisance

A 28-YEAR-OLD man will appear in Stanthorpe Magistrates Court in March after allegedly refusing to leave a licensed premises. Police were called to the venue as a result of his behaviour. He was charged with failing to leave licensed premises as directed, committing a public nuisance in a licensed premises and obstruct police. Police will apply to have him banned from the hotel for an extended period of time.

Drink driving

A 25-YEAR-OLD man will appear in court in March on drink driving charges. The international driver gave a breath test reading of 0.065% in the early hours of Saturday. He was issued with a notice to appear and a 24 hour licence suspension.

Numerous charges

A GLEN Aplin man has appeared in Warwick Magistrates Court after a creekside fight last Thursday night. Sean Robert Johnson, 25, faced charges relating to drugs, theft, stolen and tainted property and possessing a of knife in a public place. He pleaded guilty to all offences and was sentenced to six months imprisonment. Johnson was eligible for parole from last Friday, February 17, dependant on the deliberation of Corrective Services Probation and Parole Officers.
